RMG and Tbilisi State University Forge Partnership with a Memorandum of Cooperation

On June 19, Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) became the backdrop for a landmark moment as a memorandum of cooperation was inked between the university and RMG. The document, signifying mutual cooperation, was signed by RMG Executive Director, Johnny Shubitidze, and the Rector of TSU, Academician Jaba Samushia.

The memorandum outlines a comprehensive partnership between the two parties with a focus on enhancing student experiences and opportunities. Key objectives include facilitating student internships, practice opportunities, employment, and the development of professional skills. The cooperation also includes active company participation in refining academic programs and fostering research collaborations.

Johnny Shubitidze, CEO of RMG, underscored the importance of such agreements with successful higher education institutions. "Our collaborations began with the Technical University of Georgia, where we now offer a range of educational and employment opportunities," he said. "With this memorandum, we have laid the groundwork for positive outcomes and, crucially, long-term collaboration with Tbilisi State University."

Shubitidze highlighted the importance of attracting young talent who demonstrate dedication and have a genuine interest in their work. The priority fields of study under this collaboration are chemistry and geology. "We are prepared to actively extend internship programs and employment opportunities within our chemical laboratory to students from these fields starting this year," Shubitidze added.

Jaba Samushia, Rector of TSU, hailed the memorandum as a critical step for the university. "The cooperation spans multiple domains, offering our students real-world experience through internships at RMG, and paving a clear path to future employment for our graduates. Moreover, it allows us to integrate the university's scientific potential with the research endeavours of RMG," stated Samushia.

Following the signing ceremony, the RMG Executive Director, along with the Rector of TSU, invited professors and students for an informational visit to the Kazreti district. The purpose of this visit is to familiarize them with the operations of the enterprises involved in this partnership.
