Riabid.ge - The First Georgian Online Art Auction

Today, we can purchase the work of art we want from anywhere in the world. It does not matter the medium, the artist, the country - online art auctions allow us to do that. And if until now we knew only foreign examples of this, now the Georgian platform Riabid.ge has appeared on the market.

"Riabid.ge is the first Georgian art auction. Its purpose is to promote Georgian artists and encourage the purchase and sale of art for charity.

Riabid's platform, branding, structure and technical part were created by Magsman. Marketer talked about this project with one of the founders of the agency, Khatia Khatiashvili.

Khatia Khatiashvili: Any artist can post their works on Riabid.ge, after an easy registation process. It does not matter if it is a painting, an installation, a photo, a print, a sculpture, a collage, a fabric, or another medium.

Why was Riabid.ge created?

Its main goal is to promote Georgian artists and encourage the buying and selling of art for charity. The platform operates under the auspices of the Ria Keburia Foundation and serves fundraising to create broader art residency programs, to cover the costs of academic exchange programs, workshops, and art production.

The platform is designed for art lovers, collectors, novices or already established artists. Here they have the opportunity to discover, explore, sell and collect works of art in Georgia and abroad. The works can be bought and sold without an auction, at a fixed price. More than 200 works performed in various mediums have already been posted on the portal.

What can you tell us about Riabid.ge's future plans?

In the future, it is planned to hold online auctions on various topics, the works will be selected by the curators of Riabid.ge. Proceeds from the auctions will be used in full for the development of Ria Keburia's residence and to cover the costs of producing works by the artists of this residence.
