Redberry Sees Opportunity to Put Georgia on the IT Technology Map Globally
Levan Ketskhoveli, the managing partner at Redberry, a digital transformation agency, has highlighted the company's strategic plan to bolster its export position and diversify its markets through active participation in global exhibitions. This move is facilitated by the "Enterprise in Georgia" export support initiative, with Redberry poised to be among the first to reap the benefits of this state program.
Ketskhoveli believes that this cooperative effort offers a significant opportunity to position Georgian IT technologies prominently on the world map and to expand the export footprint extensively.
Currently, exports account for 75% of Redberry's operations. Ketskhoveli is optimistic that the program will aid in enhancing the company's visibility and market diversification.
"Marketing support is crucial for the IT sector. This industry is just beginning to evolve in Georgia, and we have been actively focusing on exports for the past 2-3 years. Facilitating access to international exhibitions will significantly assist us. Many global companies are already there, and we too are exporting services, a trend that has especially picked up pace during the pandemic. To integrate into the global marketing framework, companies often have to operate independently, so positioning the country in the international IT markets is important. The new 'Enterprise in Georgia' program will be incredibly beneficial in achieving this aim. It presents a great opportunity for companies to better showcase themselves at worldwide exhibitions and conferences and to enhance their visibility, which is essentially the main challenge for Georgian IT professionals," Ketskhoveli explains.
He adds that it's now Georgia's turn to follow the path already taken by developed nations.
"The IT technology market is structured such that decisions are often made based on the country first, then the company. The initiatives by the state aim exactly to showcase the country’s potential in this sector to the world. Bulgaria, Romania, and other nations have successfully navigated this route. It will enable us to more actively offer our services to various markets. We also have the freedom to choose which exhibitions to attend based on strategic and direct business needs. Subsequently, we will be part of the 'Enterprise in Georgia' co-financing component. We hope to fully utilize the potential and opportunities provided by the program, which is aimed at long-term, result-oriented processes," Levan Ketskhoveli tells "Business Partner".
Redberry, established a decade ago, is a Georgian company that primarily focuses on the export market.
The "Enterprise in Georgia" agency's new expo grant program provides export-oriented companies with additional opportunities to enhance their export potential and strengthen international partnerships. Companies can select specific countries and exhibitions to attend, with the agency reimbursing their expenses by up to 80-90% in the form of a grant.
