Price Increases on Confectionery After the New Year
After the new year, prices will rise on confectionery. The main reason for this is the increase of the gas tariffs by 24 Tetri. New prices will be available from January 3rd.
According to the representatives of the "Sweet Country", they already started reviewing the politics of the company.
"70% of our inventories work on gas. Accordingly, the costs of energy resources will be increased. Perhaps, these problems have a complex nature. Apart from rising gas tariffs, the GEL exchange rate is a serious challenge for us. 80% of the raw material necessary for us is imported and we buy them in foreign currency, because of Lari depreciation, the material becomes expensive while being on the way. Additionally, the price of flour is also increased."
Taking into account the regulations imposed by the pandemic, transportation costs are also increased, which achieve 10,000 GEL in one month. All these reasons forced the company to review the pricing politics.
"Sweet Country" produces more than 100 different types of production. From the new year, prices will rise by 5%. Price increase per kilogram of the product will be from 20 to 70 Tetri.", declared Kakha Kruashvili, sales manager of the company.
