Peruvian Investors Express Interest in Starting Thermal Paper Business in Georgia
Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Genadi Arveladze, held a meeting with Giacomo Canerra, General Director of Capital Tech, a large investment corporation in Peru.
Genadi Arveladze introduced to the representatives of the investment company the business environment in Georgia, the liberal tax regime, the importance of the Free Trade Agreements and other preferences, as well as other advantages of the Georgian economy. The conversation also covered the ongoing programmes under the auspices of the Enterprise Georgia Agency, which aim to support business and attract foreign investment to the country.
Peruvian guests expressed interest in starting business in Georgia and, in particular, production of so-called “thermal” paper, which is in demand in Georgia as well as abroad. It was noted that today Georgia meets the demand for these products via import. After the launching of the enterprise, it will be possible to not only place the product on the local market and thus partially replace imports, but also to export it.
“With launching of this production, new export products will be created on the Georgian market, which will help diversify the export, which is one of the priorities of the Georgian Government,” – Genadi Arveladze stated after the meeting.
Mikheil Khidureli, Head of the LEPL Enterprise Georgia Agency and Ioseb Okromelidze, First Deputy Chairman of the LEPL National Agency for State Property participated in the meeting.
