Passenger Train to Resume Baku-Tbilisi-Baku Route from April

A passenger train service will be reinstated on the Baku-Tbilisi-Baku route starting in April 2025, according to Azerbaijani media, citing government sources.

The resumption of operations follows an agreement between the relevant authorities of Azerbaijan and Georgia. The service will be operated by Stadler trains, known for their modern design and high comfort standards.

The Azerbaijan Railways Public Relations Department confirmed to local media that international passenger transportation remains suspended due to the closure of Azerbaijan’s land borders. However, the decision to restart the Baku-Tbilisi-Baku route indicates a gradual reopening of international railway travel between the two neighboring countries.
