Pakatso - New Wine Producing Company in Kakheti

A new wine enterprise "Pakatso" was set up in the village of Gavazi in Kvareli district, where the company started producing wine from Saperavi and Rkatsiteli a few months ago.

According to the entrepreneur, Shavlego Pakatsoshvili, the total amount of investment was 100,000 GEL, from which 25,000 Lari was allocated by "Enterprise Georgia". 

"We have a small factory and produce Saperavi and Rkatsiteli. Our total harvest is 50 tons of grapes. We have employed up to 30 locals seasonally.

Tourists come to Gavazi mainly from European countries and America, taste wine on-site, and buy it. They like it very much and express great interest. We hope the pandemic will end soon and the number of tourists will be increased."

The company plans to export Pakatso's wine, which also includes manufacturing Qisi wine. However, due to the difficulties lied within the small enterprise, as the founder of Pakatso noted, the state shall support small businesses in the field of exports.
