Over 500 Entrepreneurs Join Tbilisi's Festive "New Year Village" Celebrations
Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze, alongside Deputy Mayor Andria Basilaia, recently inspected the ongoing setup of the city's "New Year Village," a festive hub set to open on Orbeliani Square and adjacent areas, including Mother's Garden, from December 16 through January 7.
"The preparations for the 'New Year Village' at Orbeliani Square are in full swing. We're excited to kick off the festive season with the main Christmas tree lighting event tomorrow at 8:00 p.m. I extend an invitation to everyone to join us with their families for this joyful occasion. Additionally, the city will come alive with New Year's lights, and on December 16, we will officially open the 'New Year Village,'" announced Mayor Kaladze.
He highlighted that the "New Year Village" will feature various spaces and activities tailored for children, including attractions and daily concerts. "This event is significant for promoting small and medium-sized businesses, with over 500 entrepreneurs participating. It's delightful to see Tbilisi embracing traditions similar to those in European countries, where locals and visitors alike can come to enjoy the festivities," Kaladze added.
In the "New Year's Village," particularly in Mother's Garden, attractions like Santa's house, elves' workshop, and children's rides will be set up. Orbeliani Square and nearby streets will host a gastronomic market, entrepreneurial stalls, a hot drinks bar, Christmas market, New Year's City workshop and theater, photo booths, and an ice skating rink. The venue will also feature theatrical processions, children's workshops, and more.
Musical evenings with various bands and performers will fill the latter half of each day at the "New Year Village," promising a vibrant and festive atmosphere for Tbilisi's residents and visitors throughout the holiday season.
