Open Cafes to be Able to Increase the Distance Between Tables Using Surrounding Area

Open cafes and restaurants which are located in the municipal space will have the right to use the surrounding area for additional tables.

As Tbilisi mayor noted, the permit will be effective until the restrictions are lifted.

According to Kakha Kaladze, the decision was made taking into account the interests of cafes and restaurants.

"Because of the existing restrictions, cafes and bars will not be able to place as many tables on their territory as they used to. This is the reason why we decided that they will have the right to use the surrounding area owned by the municipality. Cafes and restaurants will be able to place tables so that the required distance is secured and customer safety is maintained. This is the temporary measure we are taking now, while we are in this difficult situation.", noted Kakha Kaladze.
