Only 20% of Caviar will be Imported in 3-5 Years - Georgian Caviar
The company Georgian Caviar plans to reduce the share of imported caviar in the Georgian market to a minimum in 3-5 years together with other local producers.
The company owns three fish farms and a restaurant "Fish House" in the village Karaleti.
According to Aleksandre Dadianidze, the founder of the company, nowadays, the share of imported caviar in the market is reduced from 90 to 70%. In the next 3-5 years, Georgian Caviar and other producer companies will reduce it to 20%.
The company produces salmon caviar, which is sold in 100,200 and 500-gram packages. The price of a kilogram is 130 GEL. Georgian Caviar plans to produce sturgeon caviar in the future.
The production capacity of caviar is 2 tons per year. According to Aleksandre Dadianidze, the company is one of the largest producers and suppliers of fish for the Horeca sector.
It plans to intensify online sales in the fall.
The company Georgian Caviar was founded in 2003. It currently employes 70 people.
