Neoprint Transitions to Solar Energy with a 0.5 Million GEL Investment
Neoprint, a paper manufacturing company, has made a substantial shift towards renewable energy by installing solar panels on its facility’s roof, investing 0.5 million GEL in the project. Archil Tvaradze, founder of Neoprint LLC, discussed the initiative in an interview with "Business Partner."
"Utility rates have essentially doubled, which has had a direct impact on our product prices. In line with our commitment to a 'green policy,' we decided to address this issue by minimizing our environmental impact," Tvaradze explained.
The company installed solar panels over a 1,300 square meter area, equipped with 210 kilowatt power units, enabling it to generate electricity solely from solar energy. The project was made possible through the "Make in Georgia" program, without which, Tvaradze notes, such a large-scale initiative would have been unfeasible for the company.
Looking ahead, Tvaradze revealed plans to expand the company’s solar capacity. "We intend to apply for additional support under the 'Make in Georgia' program to install another 290 kilowatts of solar panels," he added.
Neoprint was established in Tserovani following the August war, with the dual goals of providing employment for displaced persons and promoting environmental sustainability through the recycling of paper waste collected nationwide to produce paper and various cardboard products.
