Medical Tourism Development Starts in Poti - Rehabilitation Center to be Built in Maltakva
Within the frameworks of Maltakva development plan, the rehabilitation-medical center will be built on site.
Along with the infrastructural works carried out by the municipality at this stage, the projects proposed by different investors are being discussed. One such project is a medical-rehabilitation center and hotel in Poti. As Gocha Kurdgelaia declared with Commersant, the mentioned project which meets the regulations envisaged by the general plan, the working processes will begin in the near future. The medical center is being built by "Talusi". The price of the investment is 4,500,000 GEL.
The healing properties of the sand of Maltakva's coast, iodine saturated air - these are the main reasons why the development of medical tourism in Maltakva has been decided.
"The center will be equipped with the medical equipment of State of Art and will be able to assist other medical institutions in the region.
Also, it is planned to transfer the Georgian-American Clinic "Georgian Foot And Ankle Institute" in Poti. The director of the clinic, Jemal Chumburidze is actively involved in this initiative. The clinic has the most difficult surgeries participated by American orthopedists and other well-known specialists and patients then need further rehabilitation which will be solved in Poti.
As for medical personnel, 15 rehabilitation specialists are trained and certified in Europe. An agreement is achieved between the relevant associations of Europe and the U.S on the matters that foreign specialists will conduct training together with locals and give away the international certificates.", declared Gocha Kurdghelia.
"Negotiations aiming to attract the patients are already finished with the companies related to medical tourism in the United Arab Emirates and their full readiness for cooperation has been achieved. We hold similar negotiations with the companies of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, and Russia.", defined the representative of "Talusi".
The price of the development plan of Maltakva is 300,000 GEL, where also several different zones of developing sports tourism are envisaged.
