Levan Karalashvili: Loss of Shopping Malls is 10 Million a Day

The CEO of Tbilisi Central, GRDC Holding BV, said that during a meeting with the malls, government officials did not say they would impose such strict restrictions.

Levan Karalashvili also says that each closed day costs 10 million GEL to trade facilities.

"The retail sector is one of the main employers in Georgia. In 2019 alone, the turnover of this sector was more than 10 billion GEL. This year it is all reduced and we have to operate in survival mode. There were no preconditions for new restrictions. We were told that this would not happen, but we were faced with a bitter reality. Every day there is a loss of about 10 million for shopping malls," Levan Karalashvili said.
