Lettuce Farming in Lagodekhi

Lettuce is now cultivated in Georgia. The company GDB implemented the project in the subtropical zone of Lagodekhi, on an area of ​​3 hectares, where three types of lettuce are harvested.

"A total amount of investment is 150,000 GEL and we plant and harvest three types of lettuce, iceberg, romaine, and lollo rossa. One head weighs about 500-600 grams and the selling price of a kilogram on the Georgian market is 8-10 GEL.", noted Iva Chkonia, the founder of GDB.

The company took the first crop in November, with a total volume of 40 tons.

GDB started operating in August 2021. Lettuce is harvested twice a year, in November and May. The company currently employs 40 people.
