Kula Doubles Production of Dried Fruits
The company Kula, which launched an operation on basis of Gori cannery in 2008, doubled the production of dried fruits by increasing production capacity with an investment of 600,000 GEL.
As Ivane Goglidze, the director of the company declared, 30 tons of dried fruits are annually produced by processing 250 tons of fruit. This year, the company will be able to produce up to 70 tons of dried fruits while processing more than 500 tons of fruits.
According to him, 6 types of dried fruits are being prepared in the cannery of Kula, which is sold in the local market, since the demand is high in the country.
"We fully sold the dried fruit last year, therefore, we decided to enlarge our production to satisfy the current demand of the market.
We have processed peaches, pears, and plums. Now, apples are being processed and dried fruits of quail and quince will also be produced during the season.", noted Ivane Goglidze.
As a director of Kula noted, Churchkhela is also made in the same enterprise, which will be renewed after finishing the production of dried fruits.
