IT-Related Service Exports from Georgia Reach $1 Billion, Says LINEATE's Regional Director

At the Tbilisi Silk Road Forum's panel session titled "Solutions Driven by Politics," Giorgi Tsikolia, the Regional Director for the US tech firm Lineate, discussed the growing appeal of the Georgian market and the future of its information technology sector.

Tsikolia highlighted that Georgia is emerging as a preferred destination for international companies, with the IT sector now standing shoulder-to-shoulder with logistics and tourism.

"Numerous global companies have ventured into the Georgian market in recent years. This influx indicates a maturing market that continues to draw global interest. When Lineate sought to expand its European footprint and establish new offices, we underwent thorough analytical processes. Georgia stood out as a frontrunner among Eastern European economies. Our decision wasn't just based on the overall market potential; we specifically assessed trends pertinent to our industry," Tsikolia explained.

This analysis led Lineate to establish its regional office in Georgia, where they've been actively investing for the past 18 months.

"We aim to share our expertise and knowledge extensively within this value chain. By fostering local talent and collaborating with universities, we hope to spur further growth for numerous tech firms in the region. The fact that IT-related service exports in Georgia have hit the $1 billion mark is a testament to the sector's significance, comparable to the impacts of logistics and tourism. I'm elated to witness this progression," Tsikolia added, representing Lineate's optimistic view on Georgia's IT prospects.
