Honey Production Expands in Imereti
Production of honey is widespread in the different regions of Georgia. Recently, beekeeping increased by more and more farmers in the region of Imereti.
The family farm of Giorgadze, which is located in the several villages of Vani, incudes 300 beehives. Follower of apiculture took advantage of preferential agro-credit this year and purchased honey bottling equipment supported by TBC.
"Renewing the equipment helps us to expand production and improve quality. Not only the organic production but also the special technique is significant for maintaining the quality of honey.", noted Tengiz Giorgadze.
This year's harvest is already received: 5 tons of so-called May honey and 4 tons of chestnut honey. They are mainly sold wholesale, with a small number of retail sales. Perhaps, the company plans to bottle its honey with their own labeling.
