History of Ninimo - Georgian Brand of Handmade Vegan Shoes
Encouraged poaching through the use of natural leather in the production of clothing and footwear, and the environment polluted by leather processing, is one of the most important problems of the 21st century.
It is for these and other reasons that it is important to have eco-friendly brands that are becoming more and more popular abroad day by day. Georgian brand of handmade shoes "Ninimo" is among those conscious brands, which refused to use natural leather and offers customers shoes made of vegan leather.
Nini Mosulishvili, the founder of the brand, told us the story of "Ninimo". She loved to paint since childhood, and gave especially enjoyed creating shoe designs, so the idea of creating "Ninimo" subconsciously arose when the first "clients" got interested - her classmates saw her sketches in Nini's diary. The diary was called "Ninimo" - this is where the history of one of the most successful shoe brands in the Georgian market begins.
Nini is a lawyer by profession. She knew from the beginning that it would be difficult for her to move into a new and unfamiliar field and establish herself, but the fear of taking the first steps to fulfill the dream of a lifetime did not stop her.
"You have to think about what you want to do most, what will make you happy. I knew what brought joy to me. When you acknowledge this, the next steps are no longer difficult,"-says Nini.
At first, Ninimo introduced itself to the public with shoes made of natural leather. Nini tried to take into account the interests of the society as much as possible. That's why the first model of "Ninimo" turned out to be one of the most comfortable and practical "loafers". In parallel with working on leather, Nini worked on a technique that would allow her to get the same quality of shoes from synthetic leather. When she realized that both she and the customer were ready for the novelty, the dream of a vegan brand became a reality.
"It is possible to look pretty and be comfortable without harming the environment. No animal should be sacrificed for our beauty. ”-This is Ninimo's message to the public. The brand, in addition to being vegan, is also active in charity. 30% of the income is spent on homeless animals.
Nini also revealed how loyal users have experienced the changes:
"Our loyal customers have found it difficult to refuse new models just because instead of natural leather, the shoes are now made of vegan leather. They trust the quality associated with Ninimo, and consumers are now interested in charity themselves, and it's more fun to buy your favorite items when they know they're helping homeless animals. Thanks to our campaign, we also have new loyal buyers who share our views. ”
"Ninimo" shoes are among the favorite items not only of Georgian but also foreign consumers. The brand is officially presented in the showrooms of 7 cities.
As for Ninimo's future plans, it is currently planned to refine the website and create a digital platform that will make it easier for customers to choose the desired shoes. However, Nini's main goal is to encourage as many people as possible use vegan products.
