HIPP to Cultivate Orchards for Production of its Organic Products in Georgia
HiPP, which is one of the largest processors of organic-biological raw materials worldwide, plans to cultivate orchards in Georgia for organic products.
According to Vasil Akhvlediani, the head of the company's Georgian office, the process was hindered by the epidemiological situation in the country. The activities continue, although it is unknown how long the transition to bio-production will take.
As for Akhvlediani, the company owns 80 hectares of the territory in the village Nikozi of the region of Gori. They plan to begin organic production here. Currently, the company harvests different types of vegetables and sells them in the local market, but according to Akhvlediani, this production is not organic.
Within the frameworks of the project, the company plans to export processed fruit, and sell fruit and vegetables in the local market. It is planned to invest 200,000-300,000 Euros.
