Herbia: Demand for Packaged Herbs and Vegetables Increased by 20%

Demand for vegetables packaged in a pandemic has increased by 20% - Herbia's manager Davit Janelidze told Business Press News. According to him, during the same period, at the end of 2021, after herbs, vegetables and pesto sauces, "Herbia" also launched vacuum-packed milk and meat products on the market.

Davit Janelidze says that the demand for their products is growing and they plan to open at least 3 brand stores this year.

"During the pandemic, the demand for packaged herbs and vegetables increased by 20%. However, so far we have only mastered the local market. We have a very small amount of exports, which is seasonal in Bulgaria.

As for last year, at the end of the year, we added a delivery service where along with vegetables we presented vacuum-packed meat, dairy products, village chickens, and so on. The main part of which is produced in Imereti. This year, along with the expansion of the delivery service, we plan to open 3 Herbia brand stores in Tbilisi. In case of demand, we want to add facilities in the regions as well, ”Janelidze said.

‘Herbia’s high-tech enterprise located in Tskaltubo can produce 1000 units of products per day. The greenhouse is located on a total area of 25 hectares, where up to 2,000 tons of vegetables are produced per year. The company currently employs about 200 people.
