Hazelnut Export from Georgia to be Increased by 23%
According to the 4-month data of foreign trading, $14,8 million worth of hazelnuts were exported from Georgia which means that export is increased by 23%.
As Giorgi Todua, Executive Director of Georgian Hazelnut Growers Association declares, if the 2019-2020 season will be compared to the last one, the export of hazelnuts is increased by 100%.
The association already has approximately 24,000 members. They recently received 900 garden sprayers.
"The imposed restrictions because of coronavirus outbreak hindered treatment in March and April. The rain also played a big role in this process. We are already moved to the third treatment. We maximally try to communicate with the farmers. We were actively using online communication tools.", declared Giorgi Todua.
