Graneli Group Invests $10 Million in Vegan Leather Production

For the first time in Georgia and the Eastern European region, the Graneli Group is launching a factory in Kvareli to produce vegan leather based on alternatives to animal and synthetic leathers, plant raw materials and organic waste.

The total investment for the implementation of the innovative project is $ 10 million. According to the head of the Granel Group, businessman Nugzar Sajaia, this latest method of using organic waste creates a fully biodegradable product, which has no analogues in the world yet.

According to Sajaia, this is a 100% waste-free production, so that in the future, "Graneli Group" will make a significant contribution to the formation of the Kakheti region as a green zone.

According to him, the main goal of Graneli Group's innovative project is to create a product that will significantly reduce the degree of environmental impact.

The final product - vegan leather is in demand in both local and international markets. This category of products is already used by such large companies as: Tesla, BMW, Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, Lexus, Ferrari, Bentley; Hermes, Gucci, Balenciaga, Chanel and Hugo Boss.

Construction of the vegan leather factory is expected to be completed by the end of 2022 and will employ about 200 people in the first phase.Graneli Winery currently employs about 60 people.
