Georgia's Clothing Exports Hit Record $98 Million in First Half of 2024

Georgia's clothing exports have surged to a new high, reaching $98 million in the first half of 2024, marking a 13% increase over the previous year.

This growth underscores the country's expanding role in the global apparel market, producing garments for renowned brands such as Nike, Adidas, Zara, H&M, and Under Armor. Additionally, many European football teams and clubs are outfitted with sportswear manufactured in Georgia.

A significant 75% of Georgian-made apparel is exported to Turkey, with Armenia and Azerbaijan following as the second and third largest markets, respectively.

The top 10 countries for Georgian clothing exports in the first half of 2024 are:

  1. Turkey - $73.7 million
  2. Armenia - $11.4 million
  3. Azerbaijan - $2.6 million
  4. Czech Republic - $2.3 million
  5. Great Britain - $1.9 million
  6. Austria - $1.4 million
  7. Italy - $1.3 million
  8. Israel - $0.4 million
  9. Germany - $0.3 million
  10. Bulgaria - $0.2 million

T-shirts are the leading export product, with sales reaching $48.7 million in the first six months of the year. Other significant items include men's suits and sets ($19.2 million), bras ($5.2 million), and various suits and sets for women and girls ($4.6 million). Children's clothing also featured prominently, contributing $3.6 million to the total exports.
