Georgia’s Biggest Solar Power Plant to Launch Operation in June
Helios Energy Company will install a 440 kw/h solar power station on the roof of Alpha-Pet, a plastic semi-finished bottle manufacturing company. Solar panels of new modifications will be used for the project implementation.
Total power will exceed 500 megawatts. Amid the current tariffs, the investment return will start in 4-5.5 years. After that period the company’s electricity costs will be zeroed. Amid the electricity deficit and rising tariffs, the interest in alternative energy sources, including solar energy grows from year to year, Helios Energy representatives noted.
“This is a very interesting project because this is the biggest solar power station in Georgia. In the future, we plan to build a bigger solar power station. The price of installing 1 kw/h is $550-650”, Helios Energy founder Tornike Darjania said. Helios Energy appeared in Georgia in 2017. As of January 1, 2021, the company has built a solar power station of 1.2 megawatts able to generate 1.560 million kw/h energy a year.
