Georgian Tea Producer 'Okriba' Plans to Extend its Offering to Green Tea

The Georgian tea company 'Okriba' intends to expand its product range to include more budget-friendly options. Until now, Okriba has been producing six types of premium quality tea. However, market research conducted in the past two months has prompted the company to begin production of classic black tea under the new, more economical brand, 'Bueti'.

In response to increasing consumer demand, Okriba also plans to introduce green tea to its product lineup in the near future. "Our premium and budget lines have received positive feedback from both individual customers and the HoReCa (Hotel/Restaurant/Café) sector," said Dzneladze, a representative of the company.

Dzneladze further explained that the company aims to solidify its presence in the local market and strengthen its regional distribution. Subsequently, the company intends to aggressively pursue exports to various international markets, including Germany, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and markets in the United States and Western Europe.

Okriba recently received an FDA certificate, which will facilitate its export ventures to America. Additionally, the company is actively focusing on organic production. As noted by Dzneladze, the premium line tea is packaged in biodegradable bags and the tea leaves are harvested by hand to ensure purity.

It's worth noting that Okriba's tea plantations are located in the mountainous area of the Tkibuli municipality in Imereti. The company employs a blend of traditional and modern tea harvesting and processing techniques.
