Georgian Scientists to Participate in the Competitions of € 9.9 Billion Program
Horizon Europe National Office will be opened in Georgia in the near future, whose function will be to mediate and coordinate work between the EU and the Georgian Grant Offices of Georgia. This was announced by the Minister of Education and Science Mikheil Chkhenkeli.
According to the Minister, the negotiations between the European Commission and the Government of Georgia have been successfully completed - on December 7 in Brussels the new EU Framework Program for Research and Innovation of Georgia in Horizon Europe will sign the International Association Agreement. With the signing of this agreement, Georgian scientists, as well as prominent representatives in the field of innovation, will have the opportunity to participate in competitions announced under the research and innovation program with a budget of 95.5 billion euros.
"According to the agreement, the representatives of Georgia in the competitions of the Horizon Europe program will enjoy exactly the same conditions and rights as the representatives of the field of science and innovation of the EU countries. This means that Georgian universities and research institutes will be able to lead "Develop and implement international doctoral programs in cooperation," Mikheil Chkhenkeli said in parliament, where he is being heard in the ministerial hour format.
