Georgian Retail Chain “Daily” Expands to Uzbekistan with First Supermarket in Tashkent

The Georgian retail brand Daily has taken its first step into international markets, officially launching operations in Uzbekistan. On March 31, 2025, the company opened its inaugural supermarket in the capital city of Tashkent, marking a significant milestone in the globalization of Georgia’s retail sector.

According to the company, this move is not only a strategic expansion of Daily’s operations but also a key precedent for the broader entry of Georgian retail brands into international markets.

The expansion follows Daily Group’s acquisition of a controlling stake in the Bi1 chain of stores from French retail giant Schiever Group in December 2024. The newly opened supermarket is the 34th store under the Bi1 chain in Tashkent and the first to operate under the Daily brand.

“The launch of Daily in Uzbekistan is a landmark moment, not just for our company but for the Georgian retail industry as a whole,” the company said in a statement. “This expansion sets a valuable precedent and opens new doors for Georgian producers to enter foreign markets through an established and growing retail platform.”

Daily Group is a leading force in Georgia’s fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector, with a network of approximately 1,700 stores across the country. It serves over 650,000 customers daily and commands 31% of Georgia’s organized food retail market.

The group also owns the Georgian Beer Company, which produces well-known beverage brands such as Zedazen, RS Cola, Miller, and others.

With this latest move, Daily becomes one of the first Georgian retail brands to establish a presence abroad, signaling new ambitions for the country’s retail and manufacturing sectors on a global stage.
