Georgian Fried Fruit Company Gemuani Become Partner of NESTLE

The dried fruit producer Gemuani, based in Samegrelo, becomes a supplier and partner of the Swiss transnational company Nestle.

As Nona Tordia, the company's founder, told Business Partner, Gemuani has met all the requirements of the multinational company. Among them, the quality, IFS certificate, which is one of the highest in the food industry.

Gemuani was also audited by a Swiss, transnational company, which led Gemuani to supply ingredients to Nestlé's Russian subsidiary.

"This is a great success. Gemuani is already visible in Nestle's head office, so it is possible for the company to receive new orders from different countries at any time," Tordia said.

Asked whether there are enough raw materials in Georgia to meet Nestle's demand, Tordia explained that there is no problem with this at this stage. The company imports products from local farmers.

Gemuani works in several directions in the market. First, for retail, where the company-made fruit crisps are sold. We are talking about ecologically clean, about 30 types of products. According to Tordia, if Gemuani used to sell chips in glass jar packaging, the product will be sold in special bags in a month.

At this stage, some of Gemuani's products are exported to Russia and the Czech Republic. Negotiations are underway with other countries as well.

Sublimated fruit factory "Gemuani" is an ISO 22000 certified. The company was founded in 2011 and owns up to 100 hectares of land, where a fruit and vegetable processing plant is located.
