Georgia to Develop Bakuriani Infrastructure by EBRD Loan

EBRD has approved a 5 million USD loan to Georgia for the Bakuriani Infrastructure Development. According to the EBRD press release, the Bakuriani renewal project comprises several components, including the purchase of new transport, multifunctional heavy machines, and snow cleaning machines.

“The mentioned sum will be used to buy snow cleaning machines, new trash trucks and 10 modern buses to make transportation services more comfortable for local residents and the resort visitors and reduce municipal transport emissions”, the EBRD statement reads.

As noted by Catarina Hansen, the regional director for the EBRD’s South Caucasus Office, the development of municipal transport and other services is an important component for achieving regional development objectives and the municipal transport development component will also promote gender balance issues.
