Flights to be Canceled Between Georgia and Turkey From March 20th

Flights will be canceled between Georgia and Turkey from March 20th. The reason is preventing COVID-19 from spreading.

According to the information provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, the Republic of Turkey imposed strict restrictions in a bid to curb the spread of coronavirus on both international flights of Turkish airlines and temporary controls on its borders.

Georgia and Turkey agreed to restrict the transposing of individual on the ground borders passing “Sarpi” border crossing point. The restriction does not include goods turnover. Moreover, taking into account intensive business communications, parties agreed that Vale and Kartsakhi border crossing points will continue to function.

It is also worth mentioning, that the Republic of Turkey already canceled flights with several countries.
