E-Space: There is an Increasing Tendency of Introducing Electric Cars in Georgia
In 2022, there is an increasing trend of introducing electric cars in Georgia.
According to Avtandil Shavishvili, Executive Director of E-Space, for the last 2 years, about 20-30 electric cars were imported into Georgia. The number increased at the beginning of 2022 and reached 50 electric cars in the first three months. As for the last 2 months, the number of electric cars imported into Georgia has increased to 70-80.
"I think the number of electric cars imported will increase over time. There will be a wave of growth and we have our forecasts for that. Many European car manufacturers have started to release models, but their manufacturing is not fully adapted to mass production. Most of them will take about 2 years to enter the latter.", noted Avtandil Shavishvili.
As for the costs, the price of used cars starts from 7,000 dollars, while new electric cars cost 20,000-25,000 dollars.
