Discover Georgia: Travel Agencies Suffered Double Losses from Coronavirus

Travel agencies are counting the damage caused by the Coronavirus pandemic.

As Nina Kekelidze, director of Discover Georgia, explained to Business partner, travel agencies deal with the big hit from coronavirus.

"In the conditions of coronavirus pandemic, travel agencies and other related organizations who work in this field suffered double losses. In terms of sales, we stopped functioning. The hotel bookings, travel tickets, which we've already sold for the year 2020, had to return 99% of them to our costumers. This was the second hit for our organization. This is a very difficult and critical process for a business."

As for the current situation, we maximally follow the regulations imposed by the state and wait for the restrictions to be lifted. We adapt to every strategic plan, which is made for this industry. At this moment, we work remotely.", noted Nina Kekelidze.
