Dealcoholized Wine to Produce in Georgia

New, dealcoholized wine will be added to the wine categories, for which appropriate equipment will be allowed, accepted by the International Organization of Vine and Wine.

According to Levan Mekhuzla, the head of the National Wine Agency, if the draft law is approved, "dealcoholized wine" will be added to special wine categories and will be certified by the agency.

Dealcoholized wine is regular wine that's had almost all the alcohol removed. There may be a tiny amount left, but it's less than half of one percent by volume—that's small enough to be officially labeled as "alcohol-free."

This initiative will come into effect from 2023.
