David Koma Partners with Georgian Creatives for Exclusive Accessory Campaign

Renowned London-based Georgian designer David Koma has once again teamed up with a talented Georgian creative team, including photographer Tornike Aivazishvili, for his latest autumn-winter collection. This collaboration follows the successful New Year's design project for the Borjomi brand last year, where Aivazishvili initially showcased his photographic prowess.

Upon returning to Georgia, Koma, after consulting with several local artists, chose to reunite with Aivazishvili for this new venture. Assisted by consulting agency Noizy, the team embarked on a unique project focused exclusively on Koma's line of shoes and bags. Inspired by the iconic style of Marlene Dietrich, this campaign marks the first time the brand has dedicated a shoot solely to accessories. Some images from the series have already made their debut on the designer brand's social media platforms.

A representative from Noizy shared insights into the collaboration, "After last year's project, it was clear that Koma and Aivazishvili shared a creative vision. For this campaign, Koma involved local talents in various roles, from stylists to models, carefully selecting the best fits for his vision."

The creative team faced the challenge of capturing the essence of Koma's designs without his physical presence, increasing the responsibility to accurately represent his vision. "This was the first time David Koma's brand focused a campaign on just accessories, so the shoot had to be product-centric yet creatively engaging," the team explained.

The shoot's style was influenced by the project's art director and the photographer, drawing from both the brand's aesthetic and the collection's inspiration. "We drew on Marlene Dietrich's evolving style from the 1930s to the 1960s, which presented its own set of challenges, given the shoot's scale and Koma's absence."

The process was both demanding and exhilarating, involving meticulous planning and coordination. "We conducted multiple video calls with Koma and his team, ensuring they were updated on every decision. The final outcome has been met with great satisfaction from the brand, and there's already talk of future collaborations," the team concluded.
