Consulting Firm Insource Switches to a Four-day Work Week
Consulting firm ''Insource'' decided to take Denmark's and Microsoft's example and switch to a four-day work week.
Insource is the first Georgian company to officially work only 4 days a week. They think that staff's productivity will increase, the results will improve, and feel happier at work.
The new schedule will come into force from this week, with the number of working hours remaining unchanged from 10 am to 6 pm. Medea Tabatadze says that they had been thinking about this idea, for a long time.
“There are 5 employees in the company for several months now. According to our observation, Monday is a day when everyone is relaxed. Friday is the day when our partners are busy doing their job.
In short, we realized that two of the 7 days are not dynamic and productive. So we decided to work 4 days a week. We also thought it would be a little risky, but this is what happened: Until recently, I was sick and had stay home for 3 days. When I returned to work, I was very energetic, much more productive.
In general, I am not in favor of loading employees with too much work and misusing resources. We decided go on a 4-day work week, still work duiring the same hours- from 10:00 to 18:00, with a one-hour break. We're moving to a new schedule this Friday [November 15th]. We are more mobilized than ever, we help each other more, we get better results. So we thought that a 4-day work week would definitely work. If we get overwhelmed, we will hire a new employee, yet we will not change this decision, ”said Medea Tabatadze.
