ClimateLaunchpad National Finals was held in Technopark, where green startups presented their business ideas to the jury. The winners of the competition are:
"Irnero" - creates a clever cleansing mechanism for solar panels that detects and cleans the solar panel without human intervention. - First place
Advancement sciences - manufactures hydrogen generators. - second place
The winning startups (first and second place) will travel to the Netherlands for the ClimateLaunchpad final in Amsterdam on November 14-15, with representatives from 53 countries participating. Finalists are able to win cash prizes (€ 10,000, € 5,000, € 2,500), 6 thematic prizes (worth € 5,000 each), and the top ten will fall into the 18-month International EIT Climate-KIC Accelerator, where they will have the chance to invest € 95,000 in grants.
In addition, startups have the opportunity to reach out to international investors, potential partners, establish important business contacts and access the global green startup and innovation ecosystem. Georgia joined the program for the first time this year.
ClimateLaunchpad is the world's largest green business ideas competition under the EU initiative and EIT Climate-KIC entrepreneurial project. Its goal is to support green startups and help tackle climate change through entrepreneurship and innovation. The event was held within the framework of the Small Grants Program of the Agency for Innovation and Technology of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development.
