Cereals Drying and Storage Complex Opens in Sartichala

The cereals drying and storage complex has opened in Sartichala, Gardabani Municipality. LLC Sartichala Sashrobi has been built with the financial support of TBC Bank.

Investments in arranging the storage infrastructure amounted to GEL 3.5 million, including preferential agro loan marked GEL 3 million, while GEL 500,000 was attracted from the Rural Development Agency. Sartichala Sashrobi employs 10 local residents and the complex is capable of storing 9,000 tons of cereals, while the hourly drying capacity is 40 tons of cereals. Currently, the company stores 9 million tons of maize grown on its own farm. This is 10% of Georgia’s maize imports.

The preferential agro loan project was launched by the Georgian Agriculture Ministry to provide long-term and affordable financial resources to the rural sector agents for developing primary, processing, and storage sales directions in the agribusiness sector.
