BUTRANA to Open European-Standard Cattle-Breeding Farm in Tibaani

LLC BUTRANA company will open a cattle-breeding farm with cutting-edge technologies in the second half of September. At this stage, the Caucasus Genetics company fulfills the farm equipping works.

This complex will unite two directions: cattle-breeding and training of the farm staff. As the company founder Jemal Khatiashivli told Business Partner, over GEL 1 million has been invested in the project implementation.

The new farm will enable Butrana to expand production. At this stage, the company produces 20 varieties of cheese, for instance, aged cheese, cheese ripen in honey, cheese in green and red pesto, cheese with hazelnuts, and so on. “Analogical enterprises are arranged in other regions too. This signifies cattle-breeding business is developed at high paces in Georgia.

Various projects are fulfilled for the development of farming and breeding businesses in compliance with modern standards. We follow a 10-year action plan that provides substantial support of cattle-breeding industry”, Deputy Agriculture Minister Giorgi Khanishvili noted when visiting the farm. To implement the project, LLC BUTRANA has used the preferential agro loan of GEL 325,000. Located in the village of Tibaani, Sighnaghi District, BUTRANA wine and cheese production company produces over 20 varieties of cheese, Qvevri wines and table grapes.
