Box for Kids With Education-focused Concept and Magic Discoveries - Gulsunda

Many children are spending more time than ever at home, thanks to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, and it’s safe to say that it’s been challenging for many parents to keep their kids occupied while limiting screen time.

We talked with Ani Cherqezishvili, founder of the children's gift box, Gulsunda. 

What was your inspiration behind starting your company?

The inspiration, motivation, and purpose behind starting my company was my child. My husband and I were discussing what exciting activities and baby products to offer our little one in just a few months and realized that we did not know many of them, we thought that there would be many parents like us, so we came up with the idea to create a monthly box for children introducing interesting products and activities.

What is your favorite aspect of the brand or product line?

The favorite aspect which is also slogan, motto, light-motive, and self-goal for the brand is "Playing is more than game". The fact that Gulsunda's monthly boxes offer the right and interesting ways of playing is the best part of our brand for me because it gives different important values to children through games and helps them to explore interesting things.

What do you aim to accomplish in the next year?

Gulsunda life cycle will be presented in two phases - Gulsunda inside the boxes and Gulsunda outside the boxes. We only present high-quality and interesting Georgian children's products in the boxes. It turns out that our boxes are the marketplace for Georgian companies, therefore we build up communication with their customers. We aim to help more Georgian companies to provide proper information in proper ways about them to the customers.

Why and how did you end up an entrepreneur? Was it a path you always envisioned pursuing?

Gulsunda as a brand and I as an entrepreneur were born out of luck. After accomplishing my MBA and working as a CEO to a 100-person company, I found myself better at working for the idea I believed the most, giving children the best ways to play that are more than just a game. I believe that there is always more to pursue, but the path I have chosen and followed is related to a very beloved and comfortable role for me, and I believe that only in this case can an entrepreneur be successful.

Can you tell us about your vision for Gulsunda?

Gulsunda in Georgian means - "a heart wants it". We invite ourselves, our little friends, and everyone to ask this question before making any decision- “what does a heart want?” In our opinion, sincerity is most valued today. Our brand also promises the greatest sincerity to the customers. My vision is related to this very value. The brand aims to instill a tradition of discovery in families that brings the little ones closer to the elders, creates shared interests, and vanishes the generation gap.

What makes Gulsunda’s product and customer experience unique?

Opening the Gulsunda box starts with a letter - a handwritten letter for each child, which establishes an individual relationship with the child. The next step is an information brochure in the box, where detailed information about all products is given., which gives elders a hand to explore interesting Georgian products and activities for their children. Besides the price is very affordable and comfortable, and each box is unique - the composition of the box changes every month, Gulsunda boxes are in limited quantities, and very soon the full stock is sold.
