Bebosia – Mini Cannery in Adjara

The USAID-led program “Supporting Youth and Women Entrepreneurship in Georgia' (YES-Georgia)” provides a unique contribution to discovering and promoting motivated and talented people.

Many startups or developing entrepreneurs have passed training and mentorship courses, improved entrepreneurial skills, and obtained access to required financial resources. Notably, in 2016 the Young Entrepreneurs School was founded under the USAID YES Georgia aegis. During these years, the school accepted over 5,000 applications and over 1,000 young persons passed training courses, helped 486 graduates in preparing business projects, of which 89 ones obtained co-funding from Crystal organization. USAID YES-Georgia program in Georgia is implemented by Crystal Fund as part of the USAID and Women Global Development and Prosperity (W-GDP) initiative based on financial donations from the US People. Additional financial support is provided by the Crystal organization.

“The Young Entrepreneurs School enables beginner entrepreneurs to implement their ideas and get access to wide markets. Startup Bebosia founder Nino Dolidze, one of the graduates of the Young Entrepreneurs School talked about the efficiency and importance of this project for shaping Georgia’s entrepreneurial environment. Bebosia is a mini cannery that Nino Dolidze opened in Adjara together with her two friends. “We started production this year, but the idea arose in 2020. We wanted to make our contribution to the rural sector development. We owned a land plot in the village and we decided to build the enterprise on this land. The sour plum sauce was our first product. Then, we added red plum. Now, we have also launched tomato-paste production. Later, we also plan to produce fruit jams and juices”, Bebosia founder Nino Dolidze noted. As for the experience gained at the Young Entrepreneurs School, Nino Dolidze noted that this school had provided interesting challenges and gave the opportunity of communicating with important people.

“The best Mentor Sandro Kandelaki with the huge experience in sales and marketing has trained us. He has taught me many aspects for succeeding in my field. The three months spent at the School has helped us in marketing development and sales growth”, Nino Dolidze said and added that Sandro had provided interesting advice on exports details and helped us in attracting clients to the domestic market. At this stage, we hold negotiations with Adjara Group that buys traditional Georgian products for its network of hotels. As women entrepreneurs, we feel huge support from everybody and we plan to grow into a big brand, take over the market and enter EU and USA markets too, Nino Dolidze said.
