A Family Business of Wooden Toys: Kokito

Kokito is a family business of wooden toys founded by women entrepreneurs Marika Grigolishvili and Laliko Gogiberidze. The aim of the company was to provide safe developmental toys to Georgian children and eventually expand their products to the export market.

Their collection includes wooden horses, building blocks, puzzles, mechanical toys, and pedalless bicycles that cater to children aged 0 to 6 years old. Each toy is inspired by Montessori and Waldorf approaches, designed to develop fine motor skills and stimulate sensory channels at an early age.

Thanks to the assistance of the "Make in Georgia" agency, Kokito participates annually in the international toy exhibition in Germany, Spielwarenmess. The company collaborated with a German consultant at the exhibition and established partnerships with German brands.

Currently, Kokito is in negotiations with up to 10 German companies searching for partners in EU countries. The company has already sent test samples to these companies and hosted representatives of several well-known brands in Georgia.

While Kokito produces 500-600 units of products monthly, the founders aim to increase production if international interest continues to rise.

"We spare no resources for brand development, deepening of international relations, and professional development. Our company is ready to move to a new stage of development and present the image of the brand much more professionally both on the Georgian market and at the international level," says co-founder Marika Grigolishvili.

The founders advise budding entrepreneurs to participate in all possible projects and exhibitions for entrepreneurs to increase their brand awareness in the international market.
