3,430 Tons of Hazelnuts to be Exported from Georgia According to Latest Data
According to the data of September 17th, 3,430 tons of hazelnuts are exported from Georgia, which is increased by 58% compared to last year. The information is published by the Ministry of Agriculture.
"Georgian hazelnuts are mainly exported to the EU markets, in particular, Germany (1096,9 tons), Italy (636,7 tons), Czech Republic (220,3 tons), Spain (127 tons), Poland (126 tons), Lithuania (101 tons), France (81 tons), Greece (34,7 tons), Austria (22 tons), Estonia (22 tons) and Latvia (21 tons).
Additionally, Georgian hazelnuts are exported to Armenia (229,5 tons), Russia (160 tons), Ukraine (83,7 tons), Belarus (80,5 tons), Brasil (74,0 tons), Mexico (39,0 tons), and Great Britain (22 tons).
This year, more than 30 enterprises are involved in the hazelnut accommodation process.
"Despite the tough situation caused by coronavirus pandemic, and as a result of working with exporters and hazelnut producers' associations, the supply of good-quality products is in progress.", the information reads.
