"1,500 Women will be Trained in Various Fields of Technology"
"1,500 women will be trained in various fields of technology" - said Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Irakli Nadareishvili during his speech at the presentation of the partnership initiative of the US Agency for International Development (USAID) and the University of Business and Technology.
Within the framework of the partnership initiative, 1,500 women from six regions of Georgia will be enrolled in training programs that meet the requirements of Georgian ICT companies. Eight centers will be created in cities located near the administrative dividing line and inhabited by ethnic minorities. Centers will be opened in Telavi, Gori, Akhaltsikhe, Ozurgeti, Zugdidi, Tsalenjikha, Tkibuli and Ambrolauri.
According to Irakli Nadareishvili, the program, within the framework of which 1,500 women will be trained in various fields of technology, will be another important contribution to the construction of the technological, innovative and IT ecosystem, which the private and public sector has been actively implementing in recent years.
"The involvement of women in economic activities, especially in the field of information technologies, is one of the priorities of the Ministry of Economy. We actively support this direction in all the programs and activities that the Ministry implements in terms of business and entrepreneurship support, as well as innovation and IT ecosystem development. I wish success to all participating women who will join this program, will successfully pass it and will definitely be employed in high-paying and high-tech jobs," said the Deputy Minister.
It should be noted that the partnership of USAID and the University of Business and Technology with 12 companies will support the process of employment of graduates. The training programs include Front-end development, Back-end development, UI/UX design, graphic design, digital marketing, etc. These skills are especially in demand for Georgia's growing ICT sector.
