120 km Feeder Gas Pipeline Under Construction in Tsageri and Lentekhi Municipalities
As part of the state gasification program, a 120-kilometer feeder gas pipeline is being constructed in the Tsageri and Lentekhi municipalities.
A meeting was recently held in Tsageri to inform the local community about the ongoing project. The meeting was led by Kakha Dval, Head of the Gasification Service at the Gas Transportation Company of the Ministry of Economy, and Papuna Margvelidze, State Representative of Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti.
Also in attendance were Gocha Enukidze, Majority Deputy of Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti, Giorgi Demetrashvili, Deputy Head of the Gasification Service, and representatives of the project company responsible for the construction work.
The project will build a 120-kilometer high-pressure feeder gas pipeline, enabling around 7,000 residents in these areas to connect to the natural gas network for the first time. The design work involves several organizations to ensure timely completion.
Georgia’s state gasification program began in 2013. Between 2013 and 2024, the Georgian Gas Transportation Company facilitated the gasification of 881 settlements, bringing natural gas to 206,247 new subscribers. This work provided access to natural gas for many areas where it was previously unavailable. Gasification projects are currently ongoing in various regions, and by 2025, approximately 93% of Georgia is expected to be gasified.
