Sandeep Nailwal: "I wouldn't be surprised if, in five years, Georgia becomes one of the leading centers of the digital economy"
According to Sandeep Nailwal, Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer of the Polygon Foundation, Georgia has significant potential to establish itself as one of the leading financial centers for digital assets in the region and further strengthen its position in the global financial system. He shared these insights during the "Fireside chat with Polygon Foundation" at the Tbilisi Finance Summit 2026.
In his assessment, the Tbilisi Finance Summit, which brings together international participants and high-level regulators, represents a crucial opportunity for Georgia to enhance its role in the global financial arena.
"Georgia's regulators are very progressive and approach the digital assets sector with profound depth. This is not merely about the formal permission of digital assets—it is about the genuine adoption of the digital economy and their integration into the development of financial infrastructure," stated Sandeep Nailwal.
He noted that Georgia possesses all the essential prerequisites for development in this direction, including the necessary infrastructure, talented professionals, entrepreneurial potential, and a highly favorable geographical location that positions the country within a major international corridor.
According to the Polygon founder, integrating digital assets into the core of its financial infrastructure will enable Georgia to become a leading hub for digital finance in the region. He placed special emphasis on the progressive visions of the National Bank of Georgia, other regulators, and local entrepreneurs, noting that his meetings with them left a strong positive impression.
"I wouldn't be surprised if, in five years, Georgia becomes one of the leading centers of the digital economy," noted Sandeep Nailwal.
He also expressed his hope that the "Tbilisi Finance Summit" will continue to expand in the coming years, establishing itself as one of the premier events in the international financial calendar.
