Iceberg Tbilisi to Install Solar Panels with the Support of the Bank of Georgia

The Bank of Georgia, a prominent private financial institution, continues its active efforts to care for the environment and promote green projects. In partnership with the bank, Iceberg Tbilisi will install solar panels.

Iceberg Tbilisi is a cold-storage facility where the largest share of annual expenses comes from electricity costs.

The total cost of the project is €220,000 and it is being implemented with financial investment from the Bank of Georgia and Produce Georgia. Within the framework of this project, TRINA SOLARIS solar panels with an installed capacity of 500 kW will be installed on the premises of Iceberg Tbilisi, totaling 760 units. The solar station will generate approximately 740,000 kWh of energy annually, covering about 20% of the total consumption and saving the company up to 200,000 GEL.

"For the Bank of Georgia, as a company with high social responsibility, environmental care and green initiatives are top priorities. Over the years, we have supported many projects to strengthen this direction. We are pleased that another of our partners, Iceberg Tbilisi, has launched a new project to switch to an alternative energy source by equipping their facility with solar panels. Using alternative energy will not only reduce environmental impact but also significantly lower the company's costs. We wish the company success and will continue to actively support businesses in the green direction," said Irakli Kikalishvili, Head of the Corporate Sales Sector of the Corporate Customer Service Department at the Bank of Georgia.
