AZRI: 22,000 People Learned how to Read and Write in Georgian on Our Platform

AZRI is an educational platform with a unique language learning methodology. The platform features Georgian, Arabic, Armenian, Hebrew and other languages.

The founder of AZRI, Ramin Jincharadze, told "Business Partner" that a platform has been created within the framework of the startup, where it is possible to study the Georgian language, as well as cooking, poems and songs in an online format.

At this stage, the services of the center can be received by the Russian-speaking population, and in 2 months, English-speaking users will be able to receive the service.

According to Jincharadze, the startup has developed an online platform, mobile application, podcasts, video lessons, chatbots and so on.

"25 people are employed in the startup, and I can freely say that our team has moved the Georgian language to the digital world in the last 6 years. All educational materials are created by us," says Jincharadze.

According to him, 80% of Georgian language teaching is automated, and the remaining 20% is part of a personal tutor. The student learns the correct pronunciation, writing and reading of Georgian sounds in 1-2 months through a unique teaching methodology. However, there are also 8-month courses. The price of the 2-month course is $200.

As for learning cooking, singing and poetry, it will cost the user from $59.

According to his explanation, the school is currently in the process of developing the Armenian language. Next will be the Arabic language, because the main discovery of the startup is in the creation of a unique written language teaching methodology. The long-term plan is to add 10 more languages.

"70% of people interested in learning the Georgian language speak Russian. These are Russians, Ukrainians, Belarusians," Jincharadze said.

When asked whether the demand for studying the Georgian language has increased due to the migrants who came to Georgia as a result of Russia-Ukraine, Jincharadze states that the interest is growing, however, not as much as during the pandemic, when the number of their users almost quadrupled.

"We have increased our corporate share. For example, we taught the Georgian language to the foreign employees of IDS Borjomi, employees of the Tbilisi dairy factory, there is also interest from IT companies," Jincharadze said.

According to his own statement, payments from 43 countries are registered on the platform. As a result, 22,000 users (Russian-speaking users) took the Georgian language course. Among them are from Abkhazia and Ossetia.
