Sarah Howard: We Plan Various Events to Support Georgian Wine in USA

American wine professionals visited Georgia with the support of the National Wine Agency. The visit was organized by American marketing company Colangelo&Partners, a contractor of the National Wine Agency. The group included representatives of the wine trade and marketers.

The guests tasted the wines of about 40 Georgian wine-producing companies in Kartli and Kakheti.

According to Sara Howard, the manager of "Colangelo&Partners", who led the group of American professionals, Georgian wine has great potential in the US market.

"Georgian wine has great potential in the American market. Your wine is unique and has a great history. We are happy to cooperate with representatives of Georgian wine companies. We have planned various events to support Georgian wine in America, which includes cooperation with the media, and events aimed at increasing sales, the purpose of which is to provide information to consumers and increase interest in Georgian wines," said Sarah Howard.

In 2021, the historical maximum of Georgian wine exports to the USA was recorded - more than 1 million bottles of wine. In addition, the US market is one of the most expensive segments for Georgian wine, where the price of one liter of Georgian wine exceeds 6 USD. The growth trend of Georgian wine exports has been maintained this year as well.

"One of the strategic goals of the National Wine Agency is to popularize Georgian wine on the US market and maximize export growth. We are working so that by 2025, sales in the American export market will reach 5 million bottles. Therefore, to maximize the potential of Georgian wine in the USA, the National Wine Agency is carrying out important activities," said Tamar Metreveli, head of the Marketing and PR Department of the National Wine Agency.
