Muzzé: We Discover New Tastes Based on Traditional Wine-Making Methods

In 2020, the Georgian, new at that time, Muzzé wine company was founded. After two years of activity in the wine industry, Muzzé wines have become popular with many. Tall, stately bottles, a minimalistic, elegant style of label design, but most importantly - a quality product - all these are the characteristic features of Muzzé.

The 4 varieties of wines presented in 2020 made a splash: the limited collection was almost completely sold out. The success of the first year inspired the company's team to create 7 more new types of wine in its next harvest in 2021. Some more info about what types of wine were presented on the Georgian market by Muzzé in 2021; who are those people at the origins of the company and what caused its success, in our today's article.

Muzzé is a relatively young Georgian wine brand. The company does not identify itself with authentic wine production, focusing on emphasis, dynamism, and the development of a culture of wine consumption in modern, new Georgia. Muzzé is a bridge between tradition and modernism.

The company is led by a young and dynamic team with a modern and creative approach to brand development, so it was interesting for us to ask them a couple of questions.

 What is your main values?

  • Quality

“In matters of quality, we do not compromise. We work tirelessly to improve and develop premium category wines” says Iosebi Jimsheladze – the founder of Muzzé Wine Company.

  • Innovation

"Centuries-old traditions are our heritage that we maintain, but the methodology for creating drinks changes over time, and we are part of these changes. Based on traditions, we discover new tastes and facets" says the company’s executive director Anna Kvaratskhelia.

  • Creativity

“Templates are not for us. Based on traditional methods - we discover new tastes” says marketing manager Nika Gurabanidze.

What is the main goal for the company?

“The activity of our company is aimed at improving the aesthetic quality of people's lives through wine culture. Wine is a unique drink, we strive to reveal its new facets and give unforgettable emotions to those who choose Muzzé.” says Iosebi.

 How unique is your branding?

“One of the main goals of our company is to create our own, unique style, which will be the guarantor of the name of our brand. The wine bottle label is uniquely designed with our logo. The color scheme in which the design is made is based on the color of the wine and its taste characteristics” says Anna.

What types of wine were presented to the consumer in 2021?

The founder of the company Iosebi answers: “2021 is the second vintage for the company. In our first year, only 4 types of wine were presented in the assortment: Saperavi Oak - Red Dry, Saperavi - Red Semi-dry, Rkatsiteli - White Dry, Mtsvane - White Semi-Dry. It is worth mentioning, that we did not expect that there would be such a big demand and that almost the whole collection would be sold out. 2020 also inspired me for a small experiment - together with our winemaker, we introduced two more new types of wine to the consumer - Pétillant Naturel Handmade Sparkling Wine. The number of sparkling wines was limited to 500 bottles and also got fully sold out.

With our great enthusiasm, all of the above prompted me to expand the line of wines in 2021, so for our second vintage we introduced 7 new types of wine to the consumer:

  • VALERI - Cabernet-Saperavi
  • SAPERAVI - Red Dry
  • SAPERAVI- Semi Sweet
  • MTSVANE QVEVRI - Amber Dry
  • MTSVANE ClASSIC - White Dry
  • RKATSITELI-MTSVANE - White Dry
  • ROSE TAVKVERI - Semi Sweet

Where is it possible to buy Muzzé wines?

“Based on the fact that the company releases a limited collection every year, our wines are sold only in selected locations. We are quite active in social media, so the addresses of those restaurants, bars, and hotels where it is possible to taste and purchase our wine can be found on our Facebook and Instagram.” Says Nika.
