Georgian Wines Take Center Stage at Copenhagen's International Natural Wine Fair, RAW WINE

Esteemed French Master of Wine, Isabelle Legeron, recently praised the exquisite quality and robust flavors of Georgian wines, noting, "You can now find Georgian wines gracing the most esteemed tables globally."

In a significant showcasing of Georgia's vibrant wine industry, 14 of the nation's wine producers made their presence known at the prestigious international exhibition of natural wines, RAW Wine, held in Denmark's capital, Copenhagen. This exhibition was facilitated by the National Wine Agency of Georgia, as part of its persistent efforts to showcase the best of Georgia's viticulture on the international stage.

RAW Wine, also known as The Artisan Wine Fair, is an extraordinary gathering spot for producers of high-caliber natural, organic, and biodynamic wines. The event is curated by Isabelle Legeron, a respected authority in the world of wines.

In her commendation of Georgian winemakers, Legeron mentioned, "Georgian vintners are extremely skilled in their craft and their reputation is continually gaining momentum. They passionately tell their story, their packaging is top-notch, and they travel far and wide, taking immense pride in their wines. The wines are robust, distinctive, and have a rich history. The pitcher is indeed a magical vessel. What's fascinating is that Georgia, despite being a small country, is incredibly diverse, with varied species, climate, and mountainous vineyards."

In 2023, the RAW Wine exhibition hosted approximately 180 producers from various countries worldwide, including the USA, France, the UK, Spain, Germany, Italy, Chile, and many more.

Visitors of the exhibition were treated to the diverse tastes of Georgian wines and were offered a glimpse into the ancient traditions and history of Georgian wine production. Participation in such a prestigious event boosts the awareness of Georgian wines, facilitating connections with potential importers and enhancing export opportunities.

The Scandinavian market holds significant importance for the National Wine Agency, given the increasing interest in Georgian wines. The agency has been focusing on marketing activities in this region for several years, further solidifying the presence and appeal of Georgian wines on the global stage.
